Fair, sustainable, simple and elegant swimwear made in Brazil.
Tuhkana was founded in 2015 by a Portuguese entrepreneur living in Chicago. Inspired by the beauty and simplicity of the best beaches around the world, its swimsuits are just that: simple and beautiful but with an elegant twist.
Tuhkana has sustainability at the core of the company, considering that it “should not be a trend but the new standard”. All of their high-quality products are made with an amazing biodegradable yarn that will fully degrade if it ever ends up in the trash. Furthermore, their products are produced in Brazil, where the fabric is manufactured, and under a closed-loop production (by using recycled water, materials and heat). This way, Tuhkana can reduce its carbon footprint, foster the local economy and limit the consumption of natural raw resources.
Tuhkana also makes sure it works only with small manufacturers with fair working conditions and that there are no harmful products to the human skin in their fabrics being certified with STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. This way, Tuhkana clients can enjoy a beautiful sunny day with a clean conscience, skin and environment.
